About: Designing a very small office for the [kårk] editorial staff, at Aarhus School of Architecture
[kårk] is an architecture magazine, written and published by students at the two architecture schools in Denmark.
The magazine is being published 3-4 times a year, with varying themes in each issue.
[kårk] is handed out for free at the two schools and some architectural practices is also subscribing on the magazine.
The purpose with the competition is to design a modern editing room, aprox. 20m2, with the opportunity for both working and informal discussions.
The editing room should at the same time be a part of the promotion for [kårk] at the school.
Main function requirements for the editing room:
- Workplace: 6-8 persons working at the same time – with computer or writing by hand
- Meeting space: comfort zone
- Identity: promoting the magazine and the office location
- Archiving: storage for old [kårk] magazines and other journals, magazines and books
- Message boards: important for showing the process
